Mária, a lonely 55-year-old plastic surgery addict and nail technician, one day finds her former love
from her youth, Kálmán, on Tinder. They soon arrange a meeting, but due to Maria's altered face,
Kálmán has no idea that he is preparing to go on a date with his former lover.
Maria does everything she can to hide her true identity and present herself in the most perfect way
to him. She goes to great lengths to make one last intervention before the meeting, but she
constantly hits obstacles: the clinics turn her away due to her debts, her friends refuse to lend her
money, and she gets caught in a con at an illegal salon.
In her ultimate despair, she takes her fate into her own hands, but in doing so, she distorts her
appearance to the point of being unrecognizable.
ANNA KOROMAnna Korom was born in Budapest in 1994. She started her film directing studies at the University
of Theatre and Film Arts, where she completed her Bachelor's degree. After the university was
stripped of its independence she continued her studies with her classmates at the Freeszfe
Society, which was founded by students, teachers and formal university employees after the
university occupation.
Thanks to an international collaboration, she will receive her Master's degree at the University of
Music and Performing Arts Vienna in 2023.
In addition to her university studies, she has directed numerous commercials and music videos,
participated in various festivals with her films, including "ON THE EIGHTH DAY" at the
Camerimage Panorama program in 2018, "JUHEIDA" in the official selection of the Flow Festival
and the FUFF Film Festival, and "TWENTY" and "MÓNIKA DOESNT WANT TO BE DOWN ON
EARTH" at the Zsigmond Vilmos International Film Festival, where the latter won the Best Short
Film award in 2021. Her music videos have been finalists several times in different categories at
the Hungarian Music Video Awards, and in 2022, with the music video for 'Franciskadalma
Howlin', they won a special award and a silver award for cinematography. Currently, she is
working on the post-production of her short films "NIKÓ" and "DIAMOND BEAUTY."
She is currently developing the feature film "LADY SUNSHINE" with András Soós and Anna
Szijártó in the incubator program, while the post-production of its short film version is underway.
In addition to directing, she has also participated in various theater projects, including working on
the production EVOLUTION directed by Kornél Mundruczó.
